Simulating a Multiple Station, Two-class Polling System with Impatience

Abstract

Polling systems are elegant in description but difficult to analyze theoretically with even the most simple of models. We study through simulation a polling system with two stations, two classes of arrivals, no switchover delays, and where arrivals may become impatient and leave.
