Hard to Master

Abstract

This poetry collection revolves around different forms of loss and separation: thinking about home, family, identity, and borders. It explores my identity as a descendent of Punjabi and Multani Hindu refugees from the Partition of colonial India into the independent states of India and Pakistan. I consider both broader questions of how borders divide, arrange, and shape the world, and deeply personal ones as I mourn the passing of my father.
