Mapped Out: A new travel app to help promote small businesses in Australia

Abstract

This project is an iOS application to help promote small businesses in Australia after COVID-19 and the forest fires and make it easier for backpackers to find these places and other key sights. Australia relies heavily on tourism, especially when a lot of their land has been destroyed due to the terrible forest fires in the past two years. However, due to the pandemic, tourists haven’t been allowed into the country and thus Australia has struggled financially to rebuild in comparison to other years. My hopes are that this app will encourage users to locate the small local businesses to help boost Australia's economy and keep the small businesses alive.
