Abstract
The maximum loadability problem is contextualized in terms of current load growth and historical computational approaches. Modern relaxation techniques are introduced and assessed in terms of solution quality and scalability to larger systems, as well as compared to the Transversality Enforced Newton-Raphson algorithm. Finally, an extended problem formulation including the capacity to add new generation and offer security guarantees under contingencies is presented and assessed.
