Abstract

Clinician burnout has reached high levels in the United States, but there are no current platforms that provide healthcare professionals with an anonymous and credible environment to speak to peers about workplace concerns without worrying about professional consequences. This paper introduces the frontend development of ScrubCircle. It is a mobile platform built with React Native that separates user identification from application interactions to allow physicians to speak freely. Around 50 healthcare workers were asked to test and evaluate the platform through ease of use and effectiveness. Study results indicate that the application achieved its performance goals and over 74% of users believed that ScrubCircle would definitely assist in reducing burnout and feelings of isolation within healthcare professionals.
