Abstract

This paper is dedicated to finding promising ways that AI tools can help with Nahuatl translation, especially since manuscripts and knowledge of the language are relatively scarce. Nahuatl preservation is essential to maintain knowledge of history, culture, and more, much of which was wiped away after Spanish colonization. The paper proposes the development of a comprehensive LLM powered AI translator, transcriber, and extractor. Researchers in the space have attempted to find out how to improve current AI translations, but many new ways drastically increase costs, reduce performance, or reduce scalability. My model approaches these segments holistically to create the best user experience without sacrificing key metrics.
